Angelica Pickles’ Character

Angelica Pickles is portrayed as a spoiled, blonde-haired 3-year-old who is often seen bullying or manipulating the babies for her gain. The babies, often referred to as dumb babies, continually trusted Pickles despite her multiple acts of deceit.

Susie Carmichael, Angelica’s neighbor is always there to protect the babies. She tried to open their eyes to see Angelica for who she was. Ironically, Angelica always defended the babies when they were picked on by anyone else. She tends to find the babies and hurt them because they accidentally took her Cynthia doll with them.

Angelica’s Barbie-like doll, Cynthia is treated as if she is human. The doll owns a sports car, a doll dream house, and every accessory the Barbie doll has.

According to Bustle, the character is a Machiavellian genius with charisma and imagination. The character was later reviewed by Arlene Klasky, one of the creators of the show. Klasky revealed she did not like how Angelica’s cruelty was portrayed in the earlier seasons so she made some changes.

Not only could Angelica trick babies, but she could also manipulate adults as well. In one of the episodes of Rugrats, she faked breaking her leg while her uncle and aunt who were supposedly taking care of her left her for a few minutes. She ended up having Stu and Didi catering for what she desired.

Even after she grew up and became more mature, Pickles continued to act mean and spoiled. Upon becoming a teenager, she got the latest trends in fashion and did other teen things.

Angelica Pickles’ character ranked No.7 on TV Guide’s 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time. Despite her antagonistic behavior, Angelica also has moments where her more vulnerable side is revealed, showing her desire for attention and affection. Her character plays a significant role in the humor and dynamics of Rugrats, making her one of the most memorable figures from the series.

Other Rugrats Characters

The Rugrats Born to Drew and Charlotte Pickles, the three-year-old does not have any siblings except cousins. Pickles parents are perceived in this movie as being very neglectful of their parental responsibilities. It is believed that she is spoiled due to her parents’ wealth which often gets her toys, unhealthy cay or snacks. She whines in public and even cries just to get what she wants.

Her parents are always busy so her paternal uncle and his wife always babysit her.

She is Tommy and Dil’s cousin. When Dil was born, his brother Tommy wanted to return him to the hospital for fixing because he wouldn’t stop crying and he was grabbing all the attention. Tommy’s parents are Uncle Stu and Aunt Didi.

Her paternal grandparents are Lou Pickles and Trixie Pickles. Based on the Rugrats franchise, Angelica Pickles had constant attempts to scare Chuckie Finster. Angelica tried to convince Coco LaBouche to marry Chuckie’s father, Chas.

The original Rugrats ran on Nickelodeon from 1991 until 2000. The later episodes saw a new addition. Tommy had a baby brother, Dill, and their neighbors had twins Phil and Lil, and another neighbor’s son Chuncky Finster, was introduced.

A fascinating fact about the Rugrats is that the kids often got away from Angelica while the adults enjoy adventures all on their own. They get into all sorts of mischief before someone finds them.  In one of the episodes, Stu Pickles set up a haunted house inside their home for Halloween. The littles got inside but Angelica and her grandfather became terrified after they heard noises and sounds in the dark house. They thought the sounds were made by real ghosts.

Throughout the run of the series, Angelica remained the only one of the children who did not have a sibling. Perhaps that’s why she never changed from being bratty. The Rugrats series, which was created by Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo, and Paul Germain, was famous in the 90s and now they are back for their fans and also a whole new generation.

The franchise consists of television shows, films, and video games among other entries. The animated series was first aired in 1991.
