David Muir is the savy, multiple award-winning American journalist and anchor of ABC World News Tonight and co-anchor of the ABC News Magazine 20/20. His interest in Journalism began as far back as his childhood days when he would perform mock news broadcast from inside a cardboard box in his family's living room, as he tries to mimic his Idol, Peter Jennings. He was that child that would use his allowance to buy a cassette recorder from Radio shack so he could interview his sister's teenage friend.  Now 45, Muir has ditched the cardboard box and cassette recorder for the News studio and the microphone. He is so popular that his newscast, 'World News Tonight with David Muir' is the most-watched News Newscast today in America.

Moreover, research conducted by Tyndall Reports revealed that his News Program received the Most Airtime in 2012 and 2013. He is also a recipient of several awards such as the Emmy award and the Edward R Murrow award.

However, what has continued to elude his numerous fans is his sexual orientation and relationship status. Listed among the sexiest men alive by people's magazine in 2014, David Muir has many admirers but he seems content to keep the world guessing about his love life.

David Muir's Biography

David Muir was born in Syracuse New York on November 8, 1973. He was raised in Onondaga Hill alongside his elder sister and two younger step-siblings as well as six nieces and three nephews whom he describes as his squad. He enrolled at the Onondaga central Junior-Senior High school from where he graduated in May 1991 and further pursued his education at the  Park School of Communication at Ithaca, graduating Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. In addition, he studied at the University of Salamanca in Spain as well as the Institute on Political Journalism at Georgetown University.

Career

David Muir started his career in 1994, at WTVH television, a TV station in his native town of Syracuse New York. Working as an anchor and reporter, he earned accolades for his situation reports from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Israel and the  Gaza Strip after the assassination of the Israeli Prime minister Yitzhak Robin in 1995. After his 5 year stint at WTVH, he joined the WCVB television in Boston, where he once again proved his mettle in investigative reporting. Notable among his work during his three years of journalism with the WCVB is his work on tracing the path of the hijackers of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center, for which he was recognized by the Associated Press and was given the regional Edward R Murray award for Investigative reporting.

In 2003, Muir was hired by the ABC to anchor the night program, World News Now. Soon,  he began to anchor other news programs such as World News This Morning and World News This Saturday.

In early 2012, he was made the anchor for the weekend newscast which was named 'World News with David Muir'. A year later,  he was made a co-anchor on ABC's 20/20 with Elizabeth Vargas. He has gone to many places around the world to report on various issues such as the famine in Somalia,  The devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina, Earthquake in Peru, America's rising number of homeless children and so on. Moreover,  he was among ABC's top correspondents on the 2012 US Presidential election.

On September 2014, Muir replaced Diane Sawyer as the anchor of ABC World News and barely 7 months later,  it became the country's favorite evening newscast.

Is David Muir gay? Or Married?

David Muir is an enigma as far as his personal life is concerned. Apart from the obvious love he has for his family members as observed from his Instagram posts, there hasn't been any mention of a romantic relationship between him and anyone. There have been many speculations about whether he is gay or Married but he is quite content to let the rumours fly without addressing them.

Muir was rumoured to be associated with fellow journalist Gio Benitez when both of them were pictured severally hanging out at some gay clubs. It led to many assumptions as to whether they are dating,  but neither of them refuted nor confirmed the claim.  However, the rumour was laid to rest when Benitez proposed to his boyfriend Tommy DiDario in 2015 and later tied the knot with him on April 16, 2016.

Hence, we believe that he is not married as he hasn't made any mention of a wife,  boyfriend or kids. Now,  is David Muir gay?  That we do not know,  but We patiently await the day that David Muir would open up and answer this question that is begging for answers.
